Fish doodle
Woo hoo!!! Feels good to be able to do some art work! Haven't been able to for a while, but I am taking advantage of my weekends now to work on improving my artistic skills. I've been artistically pent up. For this piece it started on a tablet using a program called sketch book pro, than I brought it into Photoshop to finish it. It was my first time using a tablet that was touch sensitive and I LIKED IT!!! Instead of having a wacom tablet on the side, it was pretty cool to draw right on the screen. I really got some catching up to do with technology. :D
I will post more artwork later. This was a good start. Still have to improve more.

Unfinished Figure Drawing

It has been a while since I have posted anything hand drawn. I went to a figure drawing workshop with my good friends this weekend. This is the only drawing that I liked because it took me a while to warm up to drawing again. I used a black pen to draw this. By using a pen I had to think more of where my lines were going to go. Unlike a pencil you can't erase pen, as you can see, she has two belly buttons. I didn't know whether to erase it in Photoshop or leave it be!?
The model was really good at posing. She had so many dynamic posses that I wanted to take pictures, but that is NOT allowed, that would of been good references! I only wish it wouldn't of taken me such a long time to warm up!!!!

Tlaloc Mask with Jug
This is one of my favorite pieces that I modeled a whiles back without the jug for my older brother Rosendo Rosas, that owns his own jewelry business. There are more models that I need and want to texture, but I will tackle this one first.
If you click on his lick, click gallery, an look through the images, you will see the modifications that he did for the jewelry piece. ENJOY!!!!!

Quick Sketches Pilates and Flirty Thief
I like making chibi characters of people I know or that make an impression on me. When it makes them laugh it makes it even funner to do :D This first quick sketch I did about a week ago, but didn't post it. I am going to have to final line it because I showed it to the Pilates teacher and she asked for a print. She had a good laugh!

This second quick sketch I did today. I came to realize as I was sketching it that this is a pose that I have tried to draw but never got it to a point where I was happy with, but this one I really like and I am going to finish this one. :D

Mission for the rest of July
I was looking back at some things that I have modeled and they are not textured because they were designs for my brother and I didn't have time, but now I do and they are great models for my portfolio. I think for the rest of July I am going to texture what I can along with making some corrections to them if time permits.

Quick Sketch Manga Style Guy
Well today I had fun. From concept to almost done (I'm going to do something with the background) a manga style guy. Yes I am highly influence by manga and anime. This is going to be for a friend's Birthday card in Oct. Yeah quite a ways from now, but better to start now than to do it last min. :) I sketched it out in Photoshop, than took that image into Manga Studio, did final lines and added some tones. Took it back into Photoshop and almost finished it.

Quick Sketch Male Dancer
Today's quick sketch. It has already been pointed out to me that he needs a longer torso and he has girly arms, but hey I don't draw that many males so I am proud of it and I will fix it if I can or the next one I sketch I will try to get more of the proper male physic. He certainly need bigger hands. :D One can always improve! ;)

Quick Sketch Dancers
Decided to do some quick sketching today. There are obvious proportions issues but it's a start. I've been watching a show called, So You Think You Can Dance, and I love to see what people are capable of doing with their bodies, how they move their bodies to express certain moods and the fluidity of it. :)

TOWING!!!
Alright!!! I was given permission to use this on my portfolio. I worked on the logo design that they us in the begging and end of the project called TOWING, including it was incorporated into the Sand Animation. It was for a non for profit organization. Here is the link:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/towing/towing?play=1&ref=search
Well they changed it so I will say that it was the logo that was incorporated into the Sand Animation at the end. No longer at the start or end.

Sneak Peek #1
I've been working on a story for a while, I have the story boards which I am improving upon. The story is straight forward. It's a project that I am going to animate in Flash. Here is a sneak peek, just a CU for now. Hopefully I will have it done before the Summer or year ends. It will be approximately a 1-2 min short.

Anime and Philosophy
Here are two illustrations that I did for a book called Anime and Philosophy that was edited by Josef Steiff and Tristian D. Tamplin. These are my first illustrations that were published.
This first image is the Inside Title page.

This one is a menu special features page.

I drew them on paper, scanned them into Illustrator for final lining and color/shaded in Photoshop.

Manga and Philosophy Illustrations
Here are illustrations that I did for a book called Manga and Philosophy. It was edited by Josef Steiff and Adam Barkman. I first drew rough sketches and refined them. Then I scanned them into Manga Studio, an illustration program for manga art, where I did the final lining and coloring/shading. Compositon for the divider pages was done in Photoshop. These illustrations were the second ones to be published.
This first one is the inside Title Page.

The following six are the chapter Divider Pages.

This page lets the reader know how to read a manga.

The following 4 pages are the Introduction. They are read from right to left.

This page came before the index page.

I had a choice of a written bio or a drawn out three panel biography. I chose drawing the three panels. It reads from right to left.

Old Radio
Sleepless Night Sketches
This first one I drew on the train heading into work. I am modeling it to animate him.

These I drew a night I could not go to sleep. They kinda remind me of How to Train Your Dragon

These two I also drew along with the lizard/gecko ones.
This is a character that I call Frijolito. Normally he does not have a full body because he sits on a tree branch.

This is a futuristic house on a hill near an ocean with a light house. It would be cool to model something like this.

Water Color Paintings
Started to water color again, since I have not touched water colors for a while. Theses are some practice water coloring paintings.

This one is one of the first ones that I did and so forth.

I have seen other water color painting were it involves a kid w a balloon and decided to do my own version.

Been having the Beatles in my mind for a while. It's not a yellow submarine though. LOL.

I have an unfinished oil painting of tulips, so that is always in the back of my mind.

Was watching a TV series and there were pocket watches in one of the episodes so it inspired this one.

My friends introduced me to Old Suspense Radio over the internet. I have been listening to it since. FUN!

These are more for fun. Sword.

Mouse

Butterfly
I have to practice more, but I like these test so far. :)
