Anime and Philosophy

Here are two illustrations that I did for a book called Anime and Philosophy that was edited by Josef Steiff and Tristian D. Tamplin. These are my first illustrations that were published.
This first image is the Inside Title page.

This one is a menu special features page.

I drew them on paper, scanned them into Illustrator for final lining and color/shaded in Photoshop.

Manga and Philosophy Illustrations

Here are illustrations that I did for a book called Manga and Philosophy. It was edited by Josef Steiff and Adam Barkman. I first drew rough sketches and refined them. Then I scanned them into Manga Studio, an illustration program for manga art, where I did the final lining and coloring/shading. Compositon for the divider pages was done in Photoshop. These illustrations were the second ones to be published.
This first one is the inside Title Page.

The following six are the chapter Divider Pages.

This page lets the reader know how to read a manga.

The following 4 pages are the Introduction. They are read from right to left.

This page came before the index page.

I had a choice of a written bio or a drawn out three panel biography. I chose drawing the three panels. It reads from right to left.

Old Radio

Here is another water color painting that I did about a week ago. This one is my favorite so far. I have been working on some Christmas cards for a couple of friends. They will be gifts for them but practice for me!!!! :D

Sleepless Night Sketches

This first one I drew on the train heading into work. I am modeling it to animate him.

These I drew a night I could not go to sleep. They kinda remind me of How to Train Your Dragon

These two I also drew along with the lizard/gecko ones.
This is a character that I call Frijolito. Normally he does not have a full body because he sits on a tree branch.

This is a futuristic house on a hill near an ocean with a light house. It would be cool to model something like this.
